Tribute

Meghan Louise Laughran, age 42, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at her home in Pittsfield unexpectedly.

Meghan was born in Pittsfield on September 30, 1980, beloved daughter of Kathleen “Storme” McMahon and Richard D. Laughran and stepdaughter of Michael Murdock.

Meghan loved to dance and had taken courses in choreography when she was younger. She was a free spirit, was kind beyond measure, and had a true heart of gold. Anyone who knew Meghan knew she was a sweetheart and she was instantly recognizable by her beautiful red hair.

She loved music and went to many concerts with her dearest friend Jay Adams. She took pride in the comforts of her home and appreciated simple nights in watching a good movie. Meghan loved the water, both the ocean and the beautiful lakes and waterfalls of the Berkshires, and would visit the beach whenever she could. She also enjoyed nature and there was never a flower that didn’t make Meghan smile.

Above all else, Meghan was so proud of her son, Juleyen Laughran-Carter, who was truly the love of her life. She supported him both academically and in his extracurricular activities such as sports, drag racing, and spending time with him while working on his many projects in the garage.

In addition to her parents and her son, Meghan is survived by her siblings, Jason Bourassa (Laura Kohl) of Rhode Island, Shannon Crouse (Travis) of Pittsfield, Mathieu Bourassa (Christina) of Arizona, and Rich Laughran (Karli Cassavant) of Pittsfield, nieces and nephews Madison, Rowan, Keegan, Finnegan, Alden, Arlen, Austin, and Willow.

She is also survived by her maternal grandmother Carolyn “Honey” McMahon, step sister Taylor French and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
