Michael R. Hodges

Michael R. “Haji” Hodges, age 32, passed away unexpectedly at Berkshire Medical Center on Sunday, April 21, 2019.

Michael was born in Pittsfield on September 5, 1986, to Michael Derr and Cheryl Hodges. He attended local schools in Pittsfield, and was later employed at Benson’s Pet Center in Pittsfield.

Mike was very much a people person. He was not able to go out without seeing at least one person he knew and he would greet them like a long lost friend

Mike had a variety of interests that included WWE, watching the Celtics with his daughter, cheering on the San Francisco 49ers, his music tastes include Five Finger Death Punch, and Disturbed. His favorite colors were black, orange and red. He also enjoyed being outdoors, having barbeques, Chinese food and swimming. The most important thing to him and that he enjoyed the most was spending time with his daughter Alexis Hodges. Their favorite things to do together were to make large elaborate blanket forts throughout the house. Friday nights were always dedicated as movie nights, favoring Marvel movies.

Besides his daughter, Michael is survived by his grandmother, Bernice M. Sakowski, his mother, Cheryl Hodges, his brother Matt Hodges, and his nephew Cody Crandall. He was predeceased by his father, Michael Derr, his uncles Paul E. Hodges and Michael A. Hodges
