Patricia Ann (Kelley) Goyette

February 2, 1932 ~ July 7, 2021 (age 89) 89 Years Old

Tribute

Patricia (Pat) Ann Goyette, 89 years young, gained her wings on Wednesday, July 7th, surrounded by family at her daughter's home on the Jersey shore.
Pat was born on February 2, 1932, in Pittsfield, MA, as the oldest of four children of the late Helen (Roberts) and Edward Kelley. A dedicated lifelong resident of Pittsfield, she attended St. Joseph's Grammar and High Schools, then continued her education at the Pittsfield Secretarial School. She became a talented Executive Administrative Assistant and Business Office Support Manager, spending her happiest working years in the business office at St. Joseph's High School. While there, she kept everything running smoothly — including lending a raucous laugh, a ready grin, spare cash for lost lunch money, an excuse for "understandable" tardiness, or a shoulder to cry on whenever needed.
Known for her huge heart, sass, and sense of humor, Pat was a devoted wife to the love of her life, Bernie, who she married April 23, 1955 at St. Joseph's RC Church. They lived a beautiful life for 38 years, before Bernie's premature passing in 1993. Pat was the consummate devoted mother and best friend to daughters Michelle G. Scheschuk and Karen G. Hoffman.
Pat, always happiest in her hometown of Pittsfield, never shied away from a fun adventure with family and friends. Whether she was pranking her "Marlboro Country" neighbors or spontaneously jetting off to exotic destinations (Malibu, the Caribbean Islands, Europe...who cares!), as long as the adventure involved family, Pat was always game. At 88, she was still adamant that her passport be renewed.
Today she is survived by her daughters, Michelle and husband, Peter Scheschuk, from Mahwah, NJ, and Karen and her husband Glenn W. Hoffman from Hilton Head Island, SC., three grandchildren she simply lived for — Daniel John Bernard Scheschuk and wife Sandy, of Liberty Lake, WA, Dr. Joseph Peter Scheschuk and wife Danielle, of New Albany, OH, and Jillian Karen Kelley Scheschuk, of Hoboken, NJ. She also leaves her four amazing great-granddaughters, Ava Riley, Summer Carelle, Delaney Rae, and Quinn Carter Scheschuk, by whom she was adored as the generous, playful "Gigi" they loved giggling and snuggling with.
Pat is also survived by her three siblings: Edward (Brud) Kelley, Francis (Frank) Kelley and wife Barbara, of Pittsfield, and Mary M. Michaels and husband Dan Donovan, of Fernandina Beach, FL, along with eight loving nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Devanny-Condron Funeral Home on Sunday, July 18 from 3-5 PM. A Liturgy of Christian Burial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church at 11AM on Monday, July 19, followed by burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can please be made payable to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital, a cause dear to both Pat and Bernie, and mailed to the funeral home at: 40 Maplewood Ave. Pittsfield, MA 01201
