Patricia E. Phair, age 83, of Pittsfield passed away unexpectedly on March 13, 2023 at Berkshire Medical Center.
Pat was born in Schenectady, NY on June 3, 1939, to the late William and Eleanor Chase Medler. She graduated from Shelbyville, Indiana High School in 1957 and then attended Indiana University. Pat came to Pittsfield in 1959 where she worked as an IBM keypunch operator at GE. During her time there she modeled for GE products in print advertising and was also a Miss GE queen contestant. After raising her family she then worked at BMC as a transport aide, retiring in 2008. She met so many friends at BMC and everyone there knew and loved her!
She married her husband, Michael J. Phair, on May 16, 1964, at Sacred Heart Church. They were married for 55 years before Mike's passing in 2019.
Pat was an avid bridge player and loved teaching and playing cards with her grandchildren. As a child, she cherished spending summers at their family camp on Lake Champlain where she loved boating and waterskiing with her family and friends. She especially loved going to Clearwater Beach, FL in her retirement years.
Above all else, Pat adored her family. She was a devoted Mom, Grandmother, and Mother in law. Her family was everything to her and she was everything to her family.
Pat is survived by her daughter, Maureen P. Conant, her husband Matthew, and her son Brendan M. Phair, and his wife Alison, all from Pittsfield. Pat was a proud "Mana" to her grandchildren Alexa, Connor, Preston, and Gabriel. She is also survived by her sisters-in-laws Margaret Phair Johnson of Palm City, FL and Carole Phair of Pittsfield and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers, William and David Medler, her brothers and sisters in law, Phyllis Medler, Helen Dean, Mary Phair Schmoyer, Joan Phair Hickingbotham, Jane Phair Rivas, John L. Phair, W. Kevin Phair, Thomas J. Phair and her nephew, N. Kevin "Chip" Dean.
