Pauline L. Janis

Pauline L. Janis (Baroli), age 78, passed away at Berkshire Medical Center on Saturday, May 29th after a period of declining health.

She was born in Pittsfield, where she went to local schools and graduated in 1960. After completing high school, Pauline went to work for General Electric Company as a supervisor where she worked for 35 years prior to her retirement.

Pauline enjoyed life and all that came with it. She loved bowling and reading, and even some of the more challenging things like the infamous Jumble in the Berkshire Eagle. Above all, her prime ingredient for her happy life was spending time with her family and she lovingly devoted everything she had into making the life of her family top priority. At the end of the day, you would most likely find Pauline in her Lazy Boy, dominating Wheel of Fortune from the comfort of her living room.

Pauline is survived by her husband, Ronald Janis Sr., her sister Joanne Layhey, her daughter Lynne Storie and her husband Mike, and her son Kevin and his partner Christine Litano. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Timothy Janis, Amelia McCormack, Harrison Janis, Mckenna Ferris, Justin Hebler, and Abigail Litano, her great grandchildren, Brodi and Bradley McCormack, Keegan Aldam, and Gabriel Hunter, her nephew John Layhey and his wife Francine, and her niece Katie Baroli.

Pauline was predeceased by her son, Ronald J. Janis Jr. on May 25th, her brother, Joe Baroli, and her sister, Ellen Randolph.

Services for Pauline and her son Ron will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to "The Berkshire Humane Society" and mailed to the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home at 40 Maplewood Ave. Pittsfield, MA 01201
