Richard A. LaBrie

LANESBOROUGH- Richard A. "Stub" LaBrie, age 90, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Worcester, MA on October 12, 1931, Dick was the son of the late Roy J. and Ruth L. (Koerner) LaBrie. He enlisted in the US Navy on January 3, 1951 and he served during the Korean War. Just before his honorable discharge in 1955, he earned his GED though the United States Armed Forces Institute.
Dick worked as a heavy machine operator for Petricca Construction Co. for over 38 years. He was also a proud member of the Operator Engineers Union Local 98.
When he was younger, he loved to snowmobile and enjoyed spending time on his boat. He always enjoyed being at home and maintaining his property in Lanesboro. Over the years he had many dogs, a goat and a horse at the house and he was a man you could always find wearing jeans and work boots.
Richard married the former Judith A. Wilson on January 26, 1963 in North Pownal, VT. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Stephen LaBrie of Adams, Robert and Scott LaBrie of Lanesborough, his stepson Victor Olszewski of Lanesborough, and his three grandchildren, Valerie LaBrie, Nicholas (Caitlin) LaBrie and Taylor LaBrie. He also leaves 5 great grandchildren and his dear friends, Dick McKnight and the late Jack Burke.
Funeral services were held privately for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to: "Soldier On, INC." and mailed to Devanny-Condron Funeral Home at 40 Maplewood Ave. Pittsfield, MA 01201
