Robert Sidebotham

Robert Sidebotham, age 70, of Pittsfield, MA died peacefully at Berkshire Medical Center on August 30, 2022. He was born on January 3, 1952 to the late Frederick Sidebotham and Viola Sloat in Mt. Vernon, NY.

Robert served in the US Air Force from 1970-1976, the US Army from 1976-1980 and The New York National Guard from 1981-2003. He also worked for the Redwood, NY, Fire Department and Ambulance Squad from 1994-2004. His last place of employment was at Hillcrest Commons Rehab and Nursing Home in Pittsfield where he was a second cook. He loved to sing and belonged to a barbershop quartet in Redwood, NY. Robert also loved to cook and try new recipes. He enjoyed playing games on his phone, Jig Saw Puzzles, crossword puzzles, and reading. He was a huge fan of the Buffalo Bills and he adored his beloved cat Abby.

He leaves his partner Cindy Rivard of Pittsfield, MA. He leaves his only son Robert A. Sidebotham and his wife Mindy Sidebotham of Corsicana, TX, his four stepchildren from his second marriage, Brenda Fields of Hot Springs, AZ, Michelle Spies of Adams, NY, Cynthia Merminod also of Adams, NY and George Spies of Fayetteville, NC. He also leaves son in law Marty Lechner of Webster, NY and nine step grandchildren.

Robert was predeceased by his parents Frederick A. Sidebotham and Viola Sloat, his brother Frederick A Sidebotham, and his second wife Marilyn Sidebotham. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Julianna Sidebotham Lechner, who passed away earlier this year.

Burial and military honors for Robert will be at a later date.
