Robert M. Wheat

Mr. Robert M. Wheat, age 70, of Pittsfield died Sunday, August 8, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born in Pittsfield on September 23, 1950 a son of the late Clayton and Marjorie (Maloy) Wheat. He was educated in the local schools and was a 1969 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Bob was employed by Berkshire Medical Center in the Environmental Services Department. He loved the outdoors, and spent much of his time fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed sports, especially the Boston Red Sox and the Minnesota Vikings and playing golf.
Bob married the former Sandra J. Bates on January 3, 1976 at St. Stephen's Church.
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his children, Carrie Clayton and her husband Neale of Pittsfield, Tammie Fitch of Pittsfield and Shaun Wheat and his wife Jen of Arlington, VA, his grandchildren, Kayla and Katie Karlson, Mitchell Clayton, Bradley (Andrea) Wheat, Macie and Marlie Fitch and Emma Wheat, and his great grandchildren, Kamren and Hannah Boino, Haylee Donnelly, Madilynn Breault and Cole Vallone. He also leaves his siblings, James Wheat (Jill) of New Hampshire, John Wheat (Shirley) of Arizona and William Wheat of Pittsfield, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The Wheat family would like to extend an extra special thanks to HospiceCare in the Berkshires for the outstanding care they provided to Bob over the last few weeks.
SERVICES: A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Hope Church, 259 Kemble St, Lenox, MA on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 11AM. Services will be led by Rev. Dr. Douglas Foss.
