Mr. Ronald Philip Parsons, age 70 a resident of Soldier On in Chicopee, MA, passed away peacefully in his home on April 21, 2021. Ronald was born in Kingston, NY to Jennie Theresa Sinagra Parsons and David Hewey Parsons on September 8, 1951.

Ronald was a graduate of New Paltz High School in New Paltz, NY. Ronald enlisted into the United States Army from Albany, NY in 1971 and he was trained as a supply clerk. He proudly served until 1973 and was honorably discharged as a Private First Class.

After his time in the military, ‘Uncle Ronnie’ traveled around until he settled with Soldier On’s Patriot House in Kingston, NY. From there, he found his permanent home at the Gordon H. Mansfield Veterans Community located at 40 Meadow St., Chicopee, MA on April 13, 2018.

A peaceful and gentle soul that liked lending a hand to his neighbors whenever possible, Ronald was very kind and friendly to his family and always tried to see the best in other people. ‘Uncle Ronnie’ will be greatly missed by his Soldier On community and by his family.

Ronald is survived by his six siblings: sisters, Linda Adels of Kingston, NY and Roseanne Tedesco of Kerhonkson, NY, his brothers Thomas Parsons of Highland NY, Michael Parsons of Hickory, NC, Edward Parsons of Harvey’s Lake, PA and Robert Parsons of Port Ewen, NY and many nieces and nephews. 

There was a Celebration of Life and Memorial Service at Soldier On in Agawam, MA on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. The Rev. A. Peter Gregory, Chaplain, officiated the service and inurnment followed with full Military Honors.
