Ryan P. Starbird, Sr., age 37, of Quincy and Pittsfield died unexpectedly at his home in Quincy on Tuesday, August 10, 2021.
Ryan was born in Pittsfield on July 19, 1984 son to Christine (Wall) Shaw. He was educated in the local schools and finished his high school education at Pittsfield High School.
Ryan was a hard worker and the energy he brought to everything he did couldn’t be matched. He spent his life working in construction, mainly working in carpentry and roofing.
Ryan was a man of loyalty. The love he had for his family was endless, especially his son, Ryan Jr. “Little Ryan” was the absolute love of his life and he was proud every single day of the accomplishments he was making.
Honest, sometimes to a fault, there was never a question of how he felt about you. Ryan told it like it was, but also was there to give advice on any situation. He had an incredible sense of humor and could make those around him smile even in the darkest of times. Ryan may not have given you the jersey off his back, but he wouldn’t rest until he made sure you had a shirt of your own.
To say he was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49ers would be an understatement. He also loved the New York Yankees and music.
Ryan is survived by his mother, Christine Shaw, his son Ryan P. Starbird, Jr., his sister, Nicci Starbird, and his brother, Matthew Shaw. He also leaves his nieces who lovingly called him “Uncle Bear”, Casidy, Kaydence, Nevaeh, Brooklyn and Lillian, and Casidy’s son Maverick, his only nephew.
Additionally, Ryan is survived by his maternal grandfather, William H. Wall, who he adored, his paternal grandmother Ruth Hover, his cousins who were more like siblings to him, Douglas Starbird Jr. and Yvonne Starbird and their children, his aunts Brenda Conyers and Stacie Voci, with whom he was incredibly close with growing up, and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and very close friends.
Ryan was predeceased by his uncle, Douglas Starbird Sr., his cousin, Sarah Starbird and his uncle, RJ Hover.
SERVICES: Friends are invited to join with Ryan’s family on TUESDAY, August 17th from 12:30-2:30 at the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home, 40 Maplewood Ave. Pittsfield. Burial will follow at Pittsfield Cemetery at 3PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the funeral home or brought to the service to be added to a memorial fund to be given to Ryan Jr.
