Shameeka Alia (Welch) Roberson

Shameeka (Welch) Roberson, age 44, passed away Wednesday, August 26 at Baystate Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born in Boston, MA on January 14, 1976 she was one of six children of Debra King and Michael Welch Sr. She attended school in Fort Lauderdale, FL at Boyd Anderson High School. After high school, she got her certificate in nursing and began working as a home health aide.

Shameeka also loved volunteering her time for many non-profit organizations and one of her favorites was Salvation Army. She also loved to sing, travel, and spend time with her family and friends.

She married Antonio Roberson Sr. on October 15, 2010. This year would have been their 10th wedding anniversary.

In addition to her husband Antonio, Shameeka is survived by three sons, Robert and Keyon Wells, and Antonio Roberson Jr., one daughter, Maleesha Roberson, and three grandchildren, Robert Wells III, Aza'Ryah and Alorah Wells.

She also leaves her parents, Debra King and Michael Welch Sr., her grandmothers, Annie Welch and Francis King, three brothers, Mikal Welch, Steven Clark and Michael Welch Jr, two sisters Fatima and Malika Welch, six nieces, Shatima Welch, Kesline Nelson, Mikayla Burke, Mikenzie, Marley and Malia Welch, five nephews, Antonio Marshall Jr., Sha'ron Welch, Kenson Nelson, Mikal Welch, and Mikai Jagger, and two grand nieces, Alianna and Adrianna Marshall, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Services for Shameeka will be private for her family.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Devanny-Condron Funeral Home.
