Mrs. Sharon Reardon Talis, 72, of Pittsfield passed away with her loving and devoted husband by her side at home on Saturday, March 13, 2021 after a long fought battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Born in Pittsfield on May 4, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Thomas C. and Gertrude D. Blake Reardon. She attended Egremont School and was a 1966 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Continuing her education, Sharon graduated from the former St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing. She was then awarded her baccalaureate degree in Professional Arts and Health Care Administration.

A Registered Nurse, she began her career in the medical field here in Pittsfield and later in Connecticut where she was employed at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Hartford. Sharon was elevated to the position of manager for Quality Assessment and Infection Control.

Leaving the field of Nursing, Sharon became employed with Bristol-Myers Squib. She started as a clinical research associate performing Infectious Disease research and later as the supervisor of cardiovascular adverse events. Additionally, Sharon was responsible for the appropriate investigatory and regulatory authority reporting for Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals.

In 2003, Sharon accepted a promotion as the Adverse Event Case supervisor for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in New York City. She retired in 2014 as the Pharmacovigilance Compliance Officer from Bayer Pharmaceuticals in Montville, NJ.

Sharon returned to Pittsfield with her husband Gerry in 2019.

Sharon loved to travel. She enjoyed many trips to the Caribbean and the Pacific where she loved parasailing.  Sharon was certified to scuba dive at the YMCA locally and when returning to visit the tropical locations, loved to scuba dive.  A sun worshipper, she enjoyed her many adventures during the summer months including learning how to zip line through trees.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald L. Talis, whom she married June 14, 1997.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Jennifer King (Richard) of Gainesville, VA, and Kristen Formanek of East Granby, CT, her stepchildren, Melissa A. Pocock (Matthew) of Pittsfield, Michael C. Talis (Reese) of Melbourne, FL, and Matthew H. Talis (Becky) of Pittsfield. She also leaves her grandchildren, Allison, Lucy, Sydney, Payton, Spencer, Jaden, Jeffrey, Jazlyn and Derek, and her great grandson Lorenzo, and her sister, Mary Warner Fealy (John) of Maryland.

SERVICES: Friends are invited to join with the family on WEDNESDAY, March 17th from 4-6pm at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Thursday, March 18th at 10AM with burial to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
