Sonja Ann (Foley) Kimball

October 17, 1984 ~ February 14, 2021 (age 36) 36 Years Old

Tribute

Sonja Ann (Foley) Kimball, 36, lost her courageous battle with kidney disease on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at her home in Adams.

Sonja was born in Farmington, CT on October 17, 1984 a daughter of Roberta Foley and the late Frank Foley Sr. and was educated at Taconic High School.

After high school, she worked for many years as a CNA alongside her father at Hillcrest Commons Nursing Home. In 2010 she earned her EMT certification and worked for County Ambulance locally for more than a decade. Sonja was proud to have been working towards earning her Paramedicine degree from Greenfield Community College. As her illness progressed, Sonja began her position as a dispatcher at County, but often lamented that she missed being in the field. Her entire life was devoted to helping and caring for others and Sonja was truly an asset to our community.

Whether she was camping or at the beach, she was happiest to be outdoors with her family. Sonja enjoyed countless vacations to coastal Maine and enjoyed lighthouses. She also spent many summers kayaking, especially on Plainfield Pond. She was a cat lover, not to be confused with being a cat lady, and Sonja leaves her two kitties, Loki and Calypso.  She also enjoyed celebrating the holidays and often advocated that The Nightmare Before Christmas was appropriate to be watched for any holiday.

Sonja married Justin C. Kimball on October 10, 2014 at the Polish Falcon Club in Pittsfield.

In addition to her husband, Sonja leaves her daughter and the light of her life, Sarina Mead. She is also survived by her mother, Roberta Foley of Pittsfield, her brother, Frank Foley Jr., her niece, Morganne Foley, her in-laws, Stephen and Susan Kimball, her brothers and sisters-in-law, Brian (Jill), Jeffrey (Kirsten) and Karissa Durand, Jocelyn, Shelley and Tyler Kimball, one other niece, several nephews and her best friend Hidee Taylor.

Sonja was someone who brightened up the lives of everyone she met. She made friends wherever she went and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Justin and Sarina would like to thank everyone for all they have done to help Sonja these last few years. As her illness progressed and she was able to work less, the phone calls and visits never stopped, and it meant the world to Sonja.
