Stephen H. Dus

Stephen H. Dus, age 55, of 51 Norman Ave. Pittsfield, died as a result of a drowning accident in Silver Lake on Monday, June 22nd.  

Born in Pittsfield, April 26,1965, he was the son of Ricco H. Dus, Jr., and Dora Jean Dus, both of Pittsfield. He attended the local schools and was a graduate of Taconic High School. Stephen took care and tended to horses in several different stables throughout the county, including the Cheshire Stables. He retired in 1993 as a result of a neck injury.

Stephen attended the First Baptist Church in Cheshire. The true love of his life was building from scratch and then flying his own Radio Controlled Airplanes. A generous and kind person, he loved his own Pug, “Max”.  Stephen was known to help people even before being asked, devoting his time and treasure to assist them. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother Kenneth M. Dus, of Pittsfield, and his sisters, Karen M. Jones of Tampa, Fl., Diane L. Jones of Pittsfield and Denise J. Dus of Cheshire.

Calling hours at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME will begin at 11 am on FRIDAY, June 26th. A Funeral Home Service will begin at 12:30 pm officiated by the Rev. Christopher L. Adorno, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Cheshire. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in Cheshire, in care of the funeral home.
