March 23, 1930 ~ March 17, 2021 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Tribute

Suzanne Marie Denat, 90, of Kimball Farms in Lenox, MA and formerly of Port Chester, NY passed away peacefully at the Berkshire Medical Center on March 17, 2021.

Born in Gourin, France on March 23, 1930, Suzanne was the daughter of the late Jean Louis Marie Le Moing and Marie Anne (Guilloux) Le Moing. She was educated in France and moved to the United States in 1952. She was a strong woman who embraced her independence, and loved her family and friends.

She married Roger Denat, a chef, on May 3, 1954 in Rye, New York. The two later settled in Port Chester in 1959 where they raised their son.  Her husband passed in April of 2002, and she lovingly maintained her home until September 2012, when she relocated to Kimball Farms.  She adored her apartment at Kimball Farms and maintained it as she did her previous residence.

Suzanne was a fantastic cook and loved to share meals with those around her. She mastered countless authentic French dishes, but her specialty was crepes, and she loved to bake. She was also an avid gardener and was talented at knitting. Her family and friends appreciated the hand knit sweaters and blankets she would create, and the fresh vegetables from her garden.  Her greatest joy was to share the things she loved with others.

Suzanne kept an immaculate home and cherished her role as a homemaker, mother, and grandmother

Suzanne is survived by her son, Roger Denat and his life partner Cindy Lu Brightly of Pittsfield, her grandsons, Michael Denat of Hanover, VA and Daniel Denat of Tappahannock, VA and her great grandson, Noah Mason of Vermont. She also leaves her former daughter-in-law Helen McSweeney of Mechanicsville, VA, several nieces and nephews residing in France, her dear friends Loretta Marini of Greenwich, CT, and George and Debbie Pillorge of Vero Beach, FL, and her caretaker and companion Tammy White of Pittsfield.

Her family expresses gratitude to all those who were involved with her care, especially following her move to Kimball Farms.

Services will be held privately for the family under the direction of Devanny-Condron Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to: "Lenox Fire Department" in care of the funeral home, 40 Maplewood Ave. Pittsfield, MA 01201
