Suzanne M. Turner, age 84, of 15 Lake St. Pittsfield, died Saturday evening at the Springside Long Term Care Facility after a short illness.
Born in Pittsfield on May 11, 1939, she was the daughter of the late William B. and Mary Street Turner. She began her education at the former St. Joseph’s Grammar School and was a 1957 graduate of the former St. Joseph’s Central High School. Suzanne was employed for 30 years at the then Berkshire Life Insurance Company where she served as the Assistant Director Marketing and Sales Promotion. After retiring, she returned to the work force and was employed at the former Patrick’s Pharmacy on West St. for 10 years prior to completing her career at the neighboring CVS Pharmacy.
A lifelong communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, Suzanne loved to cook and bake for family and friends. She was a former member of the women’s Candle Pin Bowling League and she was a huge fan of the Boston Celtics. Most of all, she loved her role as a Mom and “ GiGi “ to her grandchildren and great granddaughters.
She is survived by her daughter, Laura M. Litano of Pittsfield, her sister, Pamela M. Aulisio and her husband John, of Pittsfield and her brother, William M. Turner of Pittsfield, her 4 grandchildren Daniel Williams, David, Zachary and Ryan Litano and her two great-granddaughters, Payton Rose Tatro and Mia Litano.
Suzanne was deceased by her son, Anthony M. Litano, who died February 22, 2021 and sister, Marilyn J. Pratt who died May 6, 2019.
Visiting hours will be held this THURSDAY, August 31st at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME beginning at 10 A.M. with a Celebration of her Life to follow at 12 Noon at the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum at St. Josephs’ Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and mailed to the funeral home.
