Theresa (Pitroff) Pfister

May 26, 1953 ~ May 28, 2023 (age 70) 70 Years Old

Tribute

Theresa Marie (Pitroff) Pfister, died two days after her 70th birthday at Berkshire Medical Center on May 28, 2023.

Born in Adams on May 26, 1953, Theresa was a daughter of the late Ralph and Dorothy M. (Ruprecht) Pitroff. She was educated in the local schools and was a graduate of Hoosac Valley High School.

She was a dedicated employee and hard worker. She started her career at Arnold Print Works and later worked for the Waverly Mill and then for Aladco Linen Services for many years.

Many will remember Theresa as being a wonderful mother, and animal lover and for seeing her always walking around Adams. Her daughter Alison was her best friend and companion, and she loved how much they looked alike. She gave home to countless cats over the years and even bred cats for a long time. She also had many birds, including her red Mollucan Lory named Zoey that she taught to say good-night every night.

Theresa was always smiling and playing tricks on people. She had a great sense of humor, and even when others were the brunt of her jokes they would laugh, knowing she was good-natured in her endeavors.

Theresa was raised Catholic and embraced her faith. She attended mass at St. Thomas Aquinas in Adams until her move to Pittsfield 5 years ago. She volunteered at the church often, especially when helping Jackie Nimmons with teaching Catechism.

She loved music, especially Boxcar Willie and Sonny & Cher, and enjoyed listening to Bible studies on cassette tape when she was home. She also loved watching TV shows from the 1970s and 80s like Archie Bunker and The Golden Girls.

Theresa was talented at crocheting and would often make blankets and made many dolls and their outfits over the years.

In addition to her beloved daughter Alison Pfister, Theresa is survived by their family friend Rich Wells of Pittsfield and many extended members of the Pitroff family. She also leaves her “grandkitties” Bandchy, Kushie and twin Bengal cats, Sonny “Sun Sun” and Cher “Mummie.”

She was predeceased by her parents, Rich’s wife Debbie Wells who took wonderful care of Theresa and her longtime companion Doug.

There are no services for Theresa at this time. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made payable to the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home to assist with the funeral costs. Donations may be made over the phone or by calling 413-445-5988 to make a donation in person.
