Thomas Apple

Thomas Apple, age 69, of Pittsfield passed away peacefully Sunday, February 19, 2023 at his home in Pittsfield after a long illness. 
Born in Pittsfield on September 4, 1953, Tom was on of 13 children of the late Mary and Edward J. Apple Jr. He was a 1971 graduate of St. Josephs High School and went on to attend Berkshire Community College. He spent his life working as a land surveyor and retired from Foresight Land Services in 2005.
A talented musician and lover of music, Tom was a drummer with his brothers in many different bands over the years. Many may remember Ovation, a band that played at the Three Chefs for many years. 
He enjoyed golfing and participated in the Smokey Stover Golf Tournament for over 20 years. Tom was quick witted and a trivia king. He was the go to person in his family for musical knowledge and all Jeopardy questions. 
Tom married the former Wendy Southworth on October 28, 1978. In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by their two sons, Mark and Andrew Apple, and three grandchildren, Jonathan, Cadence and Haley Apple.
Additionally, he is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Daryl A. Belanger, Karen E. Guidice (Frank), Ellen M. Apple, Margaret A. Dube, Elizabeth M. Brockley, David W. (Mary Jane) Apple, John J. (Alison) Apple, Peter J. (Theresa) Apple, Michael J. Apple, Christopher P. (Linda) Apple, Patrick C. (Tracey) Apple, Timothy E. (Patricia) Apple, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 12-2PM at the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home. A prayer service will follow beginning at 2PM. Burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery will be at a later date. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to "Hospice Care in the Berkshires" and mailed to the funeral home at 40 Maplewood Ave. Pittsfield, MA 01201
