Pittsfield - Victoria V. "Vicki" King, 81, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at the Berkshire Medical Center after a sudden illness.

Vicki was a lifelong resident of Pittsfield, having been born here on October 18, 1935, a daughter of the late Valentino and Jennie (Santore) Zande. She was a 1953 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Through the years she remained active with her graduating class as a member of the reunion committee. In Vicki's younger years, she worked for the former Eaton Paper Company. She then spent several years raising her daughters and working as a homemaker, later returning to work for several businesses including Sears, Warner Cable and lastly the former Rogers Jewelers as a saleswoman and book keeper.

Vicki was a communicant of the former St. Francis Parish. She was particularly active with the parish as a Eucharistic Minister and as a CCD instructor. She was a Pope Pius X Award recipient.

Beyond her devotion to her faith, Vicki was dedicated to her family and put them above everything. The love and devotion that Vicki and her husband Donnie shared was the foundation of their family. She was an amazing cook, and will be remembered for her beloved Sunday dinners. Vicki was exceptionally proud of her dual citizenship, having been both a citizen of the United States and Italy. At the age of 80, Vicki traveled out of the United States for the first time in her life to visit Italy with her three daughters. The memories created there will be forever cherished.

Vicki married her husband, the late Donald R. King, on June 27, 1959 at the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Donald, a retired Deputy Fire Chief with the Pittsfield Fire Department, died on October 30, 2007.

Vicki leaves her three daughters, Laura Cleary and her husband Paul of Milton, Nancy King and her partner Thomas Filippini of Pittsfield, and Paula King and her partner Gary Roy of Lenox. She also leaves her 5 grandchildren: Paul Donald and Sean Cleary, and Noah, Jennie, and Mary Tullock, her great grandson Elijah Smith, and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Frank Delugan and her sister, Grace Naughton.

Vicki's daughters would like to extend a special thanks to their cousin Judy Hopper, who was like a fourth daughter to Vicki, for the love and devotion she gave to their mother especially over the last few years. They would also like to thank Melbourne Place Memory Care unit for the exceptional care they provided Vicki during her time with them.
