Mr. Walter Karl, age 64, of 184 Bradford St. Pittsfield, was pronounced dead on Sunday evening, Jan. 28th. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., May 22, 1953,  the son of the late Walter and Dorothy Karl. Educated in the school there he came to live in the Berkshires in 2009.

At the time of his death, he was employed as a medical transportation assistant for Action Ambulance. Previously, he was employed as the maintenance manager at the Holy Family Terrace Apartments in North Adams. Walt was then later employed as a clerk at the Home Depot and later at the Dollar Store.

Walt enjoyed all types of outdoor activities while spending time with his daughter, Faith, including fishing, kayaking, camping and attending the Aggie Fair.  Well known for his sense of humor, he loved to tell corny jokes. Most importantly, he loved his role as a father and helping to raise his beautiful 11 year old daughter, Faith J. Karl, of North Adams. In addition to his daughter Faith, he is survived by  Lynn M. Stracuzzi of North Adams, the mother of his daughter.

Memorial Services will held at a later date. The family requests that you assist Faith and her Mom, Lynn, by helping to defray the funeral expenses. Please make your checks payable to the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home, which is assisting the family in honoring Walter.
