Pittsfield- Michael John Grabowski, 66, died Tuesday, November 7th at the Berkshire Medical Center after a long battle with heart disease.

Michael was born September 4, 1951 in Norwich, CT a son of Nina Grabowski and the late John Grabowski. Michael graduated from high school, and then went on to join the US Air Force. Michael was a veteran of the Vietnam War, and proudly served his country for 3 years, 7 months and nine days. In this time, he was ranked as Sargent, and received numerous medals of Honor.  In more recent times, Michael loved to spend time with his many friends from Soldier On, especially his close friend Michael Jones. Together they enjoyed their number of “field trips” to the airport and to try new foods. Michael would reminisce about his time in the Air Force, and always comment on the lights on the runway. He was a man who loved to make other people happy, and he valued a good joke. He will be missed by many.

A Memorial Service for Michael will be held at a later date at Soldier On.

Funeral Arrangements for Michael are under the direction of Devanny-Condron Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations in Michael's memory may be made to Soldier On, in care of the Funeral Home.
